I heard that one half of the unlikely pairing was 31-year-old Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack and the other is barely-out-of-nappies One Direction stud Harry Styles, 17, my jaw hit the floor.
My spies witnessed the pair in a clinch last Sunday at Londons exclusive W Hotel, where the cast and crew of the show were enjoying late night drinks and letting off some steam after a busy day at the office.
Harry clearly thought he had nothing to lose when he made his move on the presenter.
My spy reveals: You could tell Harry was loving every moment. He was poised ready for quite some time as they were talking, and in the end Caroline didnt say no.
They had a big passionate snog and it caused mild hysterics with the group of people they were with. They looked really into each other and left in a cab together, eventually going their separate ways much to the amusement of the group.
After their embrace Harry tweeted: Sometimes things happen and you suddenly get a whole new outlook on life. Ah, young love. Literally.
Even more hilariously, since they touched tonsils at the party, both Caroline and Harry have been tweeting about having sore throats and colds. Clearly they passed each other the lurgy!
Harry tweeted yesterday (shown, right): Woke up with man flu and a sore throat today.
Hours before, Caroline had tweeted: Woke up with the sorest throat and huge glands!!! Harry has made no secret about the fact hes fancied former Im A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here Now host Caroline. In August he told the official X Factor website: If Caroline Flack is reading this, say Hi from me. She is gorgeous!
He even got his mate Tim Dean a producer on Xtra Factor to send Tweets to Caroline in September to persuade her to date him. One tweet from Tim read: @carolineflack1 I think you should consider dating @Harry_Styles hes oh so handsome + charismatic and defo not sat next to me now!
Obviously theres something rather creepy about the fact Caroline (pictured below, yesterday) is 14 years older than Harry, but there is no need for anyone to call social services Im told it was just a bit of one-off fun.
A pal reveals: She had a couple of snogs and things would never have gone any further. Shes laughing about it now.
Harrys a lovely guy, very charismatic and they get on like a house on fire. You forget how young he is when youre with him. Shes definitely not going to be following up the snog. They will stay friends, but thats about it.

1D's career startet in X Factor. They all were singing and tried to be singers, but then, Nicole Scherzinger (from pussycat dolls) said that they all should be a group. I think she were right! Is there any better band then 1D?

Harry Styles born 1 February 1994 (17 years old) from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England, a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. Styles was the lead singer for the band White Eskimo with band members lead guitarist Haydn Morris, bass guitarist Nick Clough and drummer Will Sweeny. Styles auditioned with "Isn't She Lovely" and received positive comments from two of the three judges present at his audition, with Louis Walsh having doubts on whether he was ready to progress in the competition. At bootcamp, he sang "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" before being rejected and put into One Direction.
Liam Payne born 29 August 1993 age 18 from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, a music technology student at City of Wolverhampton College. Payne had auditioned in 2008 to The X Factor's fifth series when he was 14 and reached judges' houses, but Cowell thought he was not ready for the competition and asked him to come back in two years. This time Payne auditioned singing "Cry Me a River" and received a standing ovation from the audience and Simon Cowell.
Louis Tomlinson born 24 December 1991 (19 years old). from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, was a sixth form student at Hall Cross School and previously at The Hayfield School before that.
Zayn Malik born 12 January 1993, age 18 from West Lane Baildon, Bradford, England. A student at Tong High School. He is of Pakistani descent. His audition was initially not shown, but was shown after the series ended on companion show X Factor. Malik was noted for becoming nervous in bootcamp, and when he was told he had to dance, he decided to remain backstage, effectively running the risk of elimination. Cowell noticed Malik missing from the dance routine and went backstage and convinced him to return.
